The Ryan Gloyer Middle School (RGMS) Musical is an extracurricular opportunity for students in grades seven and eight to participate in all aspects of a full-scale theater production. Students can perform onstage, build and design sets, run stage crew, control lighting and sound, design props and costumes, provide dramaturgy, usher, and serve as stage managers. The RGMS Musical is performed annually during the first or second weekends in November. We will have students from the third and fourth grades to add to our elementary cast. We also have assistance from prior middle school students who are now high schoolers.
All rehearsals are after school and are generally held three to four times a week for six to eight weeks preceding the performances. Students intending to audition should be aware that participation in an after-school sport might coincide with rehearsals and prevent their participation in the play.
We work with students who do not wish to perform on stage, but want to participate back stage as part of our crews. These positions include: sound, lights, set movement, props, costumes and make-up. Anyone who is interested in crew is welcome to join through Microsoft TEAMS. No auditions are required. We will do our best to take all interested stage crew students.
Performances:
The performances take place at the Seneca Valley Intermediate High School Auditorium. Evening performances begin at 7:00pm and matinee performances begin at 2:00pm.
The Box Office and Concessions areas will open 1 hour prior to the show. The auditorium doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time.
Volunteer Help:
There are many areas where parents can help. Please contact us if you are interested in helping. The musical is a fun and rewarding experience. This is a great way to watch your child work in a team, learn, have fun, and grow.
